Not Fast or Furious Enough: Revving Up the Transition to Electric Vehicles
Presented by Sierra Club and Electric Vehicle Association
Featuring Elaine Borseth, President, Electric Vehicle Association, and Katherine Garcia, Director of the Clean Transportation for All Campaign, Sierra Club; and Cachavious English, Policy Strategist and Managing Counsel, Ford Motor Co.
The automotive industry claims that the world isn’t fully ready for electric vehicles. However, consumer demand for EVs is at a critical tipping point, and we must quickly accelerate the transition to EVs to mitigate the climate crisis and improve air quality for communities. As we surmount challenges with charging infrastructure and supply chains, the industry must prioritize sustainability along with profits and shareholders by ramping up their electrification strategies now. A diverse group of auto industry and sustainability experts will come together to answer questions such as "What do vehicle makers need to do to meet growing consumer demand for clean transportation?" and "What are automakers getting right, and what is standing in the way of a clean, all-electric future?"
