The Female C-Suite: Breaking News and Smashing Barriers at The Daily Beast
Hosted by The Daily Beast

The media shapes our understanding of the world. Yet women run only three of the top 25 newspaper titles in the U.S. While women comprise more than two-thirds of graduates with degrees in journalism or mass communications each year, just one-third of the media industry is women. Where are the women?

Known for breaking news, The Daily Beast is a news publisher also breaking leadership barriers and gender stereotypes. Women hold the lion’s share C-level titles. And business is going well with traffic and engagement climbing and direct ad revenue soaring (up 77% in 2018) in a notoriously tough market.

This session will bring together The Daily Beast’s female C-suite to discuss the impact their diverse leadership has on business and product decisions, driving revenue, and the company culture at-large. It will also address the gender gap in media and strategies for closing it.
