The 81st Street Studio is The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s new discovery and play space for kids ages 3–11 and their families and caregivers. Through an art and science focus, the 81st Street Studio encourages exploration of the scientific properties of materials in the world and in works of art in The Met collection. This session will offer a hands-on tour of the space—for grown-ups—with Heidi Holder, Frederick P. and Sandra P. Rose Chair of Education; Brett Renfer, Senior Project Manager of Emerging Technologies; and Kate Swanson, Associate Educator. Guests should enter via the Uris Center for Education entrance located at 81st Street and Fifth Avenue.
