Facilitated by ANDY LANTZ, Creative Director at RIOS
Let’s come together to think beyond the dilemma of the “now” caused by COVID-19 and its impacts on the workplace. Join Andy Lantz, Creative Director at multidisciplinary design firm, RIOS, for a discussion on how challenges can be leveraged into solutions for a workplace renaissance.
Takeaways:
- Temperature-take: Using employee feedback to retool your workplace philosophy
- Beyond plexiglass: Physical solutions for spaces and teams that are both in-person and virtual
- Culture in the time of COVID-19: How to keep the spark of the office alive
Andy designs places and spaces that engage the complete sensory experience – sound, smell, touch, and sight. He helped design the Beverly School for the Deaf in Massachusetts, which required him to rethink learning environments that were visually and tactilely optimal for deaf learners, as well as the custom sculptural wood reception desk at 600 Congress in Austin, the Hollywood Bowl Artist Lounge, and the office spaces for VRBO and Spotify. Andy also worked for a military contractor, analyzing and creating sensory-deprived environments for Black Hawk helicopter pilots. He has taught at UCLA School of Architecture and Ohio State University’s Knowlton School of Architecture.
Before joining Rios in 2011 he established and administered the Project Link program, an intensive immersion for high school students at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design.
